Pricing
Rate plans and seasons
A rate plan is a price list for a market and currency, for example International, USD. Seasons are date ranges (High, Low, Holiday). A sailing is priced with the season of its embark date.
A plan prices either:
- per person (by occupancy: single, double, triple) or per cabin;
- per night or per package (the whole itinerary).
A worked example
Two adults and a 7-year-old in a Standard cabin, LXR-4, per-person package plan, double rate USD 585:
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| Adult (double) | 585.00 |
| Adult (double) | 585.00 |
| Child 7 (50% of the adult rate) | 292.50 |
| Total | 1,462.50 |
Each line is rounded on its own, so the total always equals the sum of its lines. Money is stored as whole cents, never as decimals.
Children
The child policy sets age bands, for example:
| Age on the embark date | Price |
|---|---|
| 0–1 | Free |
| 2–5 | 25% of the adult rate, when sharing with two adults |
| 6–11 | 50% of the adult rate, when sharing with two adults |
| 12 and over | Adult |
A child who is not sharing with two adults is priced as an adult. If a date of birth entered later shows a different age band, the booking is flagged on Today, not repriced.
Supplements
Extra charges on certain dates, such as a gala dinner, per adult and per child.
Channels
A channel's contract may add a markup (the channel's price is higher) or show a commission (information for the channel, not added to the total).
Prices are frozen when sold
A booking keeps the prices and policies of the moment it was sold. Changing rates later affects new quotes only.
